Things I Love Today: Colin as Darcy

I was watching Pride and Prejudice on PBS on last night and once again struck by Mr. Darcy's brooding stare. Honestly, I think I could watch all 300 minutes back-to-back-to-back forever...much to Rob's chagrin.

Maybe this will be my plan for keeping entertained in the nursing home at 98. Yes, that's exactly it. Breakfast in bed, silk pajamas, cashmere blankets and chain viewing of P&P!

I love the part where she is playing the piano and he just can't stop gazing at her. Good stuff.

Mmmm. Husband asked last night "Is he supposed to be the hot one?" and then concluded "I just don't get it". I just drooled.

That is a brilliant plan. Now I just have to live to 98 to fulfill it. Or this weekend, whichever comes first. ;)

Incidentally, my friend just notified me that Colin Firth is up for bid on ebay. I was denied permission to spend our life's savings. :(

Oh I know... I've watched that one a million times and still can't get enough.

It's funny, because my plan for the nursing home involves 1) start drinking mimosas at 11 am (I'm old! Who's going to stop me?) 2) gossiping about my kids/ grandkids/ the nursing home staff (I'm old! Who is going to stop me?) 3) not working, and generally doing exactly as I please (so endless watching of movies I like would fall in that catagory).

Oh Colin Firth. I loved him in Love, Actually. You know who kinda looks like him as Mr. Darcy? Marc, the gay guy on Ugly Betty.

Me too! I just finished a book called Austenland. Don't read it. What a disappointment.
