Things I Love Today: Monarchy

The PBS's special on life with the Royal Family is one of my favorite things. I love all the behind the scenes work, pomp and fuss.

So far, I've deduced that the best part of being the Queen is - not the jewels and palaces - but the fact that people offer you flowers wherever you go.

Can you imagine!? At the gas station...here are some tulips. At a staff meeting...would you like a few peonies? Hello random small child...I will take some chrysanthemums, thank you.

Awesome.

I am so crazy about this series. Did you see the previous special they did of a year inside Windsor Castle? I am so obsessed with the household staff- they have timed trial runs of unpacking guests suitcases! The height of hospitality, no doubt.

I love this series too. It makes me want to pack up my suitcases and head to London so I can stand on street corners with a bunch of daisies in my hand on the off chance I run into the Queen.

But they're a horrible family, and a huge drain on the British system--they barely pay taxes.

I am so with you on this one. I was watching it last week and thinking the same thing. It would be lovely to go to the dry cleaners and get some pink tea roses...
