The sidewalk garden at Fly Trap is exactly what I have in mind for my patio. Lush planters filled with flowers, succulents and edible greens. I need to get to a nursery as soon as Rob is back with the car!
I am coming to the city with my family in July. I would love to have your input in must sees. The challenge is that I have a son, 16, and daughters, 12, 5 and 3. Quite a spread. If you are interested in the challenge, I can give you more info.

Hmm...places all ages love in SF? The Exploratorium, Golden Gate Park, Chinatown, taking the ferry to Sausalito and the Academy of Sciences.
