Seward is a picturesque mid-sized town surrounded by glaciers and a great base-camp for all kinds of big Alaskan adventures along the Kenai Fjords. I'll do separate posts on the whale watching and glacier hiking we embarked on out of Seward next. Established in the 1790's as a Russian fur trading post, the town has a cute older homes and churches.
small library with a museum downstairs and a community garden on the side. The fastest internet in Alaska and a lovely view of the bay! (as you can see, the weather can fluctuate day-to-day from warm and sunny to overcast and cold)
Seward Brewing Company is a fun place to fill-up your growler with a local IPA or stout.
Stoney Creek RV Park - a bit outside of town, with full hook-ups, wifi and showers. Our middle night, we parked in the city-run RV park right along the water downtown. This is the 11:00 pm view of the Kenai Fjords from our RV.
