Weekly Dinner Party: Interrupted

Last week's dinner party didn't go according to plan. Instead of spending the day buying fresh oysters and preparing to roast a chicken Zuni-style...Rob and I sat with a friend in the hospital emergency room for six hours. Shoot.

I did manage to throw together a cheese plate with the last of the manchego, red walnuts, dried apricots (unsulfured) and a ripe plum. Pretty much the only food we had in the house!

We started with wine and cheese at our place, walked to dinner at a restaurant around the corner and came back for ice cream and coffee. Still counts as a dinner party, even if it didn't quite work out as expected.
